Dr. Borkovich's current research focuses on how multicellular (filamentous) fungi sense their environment and then fine-tune their gene expression to allow exploitation of different nutritional sources or to infect plant hosts.
Dr. Elisabeth develops bioimaging workflows to visualize and characterize microbial interactions, exploring how microbes interact with each other and with their environment. Dr. Elisabeth will co-manage the anaerobic chamber and lead the high throughput imaging effort.

Dr. Wheeldon’s lab is interested in engineering new multi-enzyme pathway biocatalysts with controlled spatial locations, distances, and orientations to control substrate flux along pathways.
